Local Government
Princeton is a city with a Mayor/Council form of government. The mayor and four council persons are elected for two- and four-year terms. The current city hall, purchased by the city in 1994, houses the city administration, the police department and the Princeton Area Chamber of Commerce. Citizen committees work in specified fields to help give the council added input into decision making. Commissions include the Public Utilities Commission, the Planning Commission, the Park and Recreational Advisory Board, the Airport Advisory Board and the Economic Development Authority.
