What is a
Chamber of Commerce?

A Chamber of Commerce
is a membership driven organization comprised of businesses and civic organizations working collectively to sustain their community. Their goal is to stimulate economic opportunities, which will assure residential growth as well.

The Purpose
of a Chamber of Commerce is to connect people to people who can then pool resources: time, talents and treasures to collectively achieve what just one member could not accomplish solely. In so doing, both economic and residential avenues of the community are strengthened.

Success of a Chamber of Commerce
lies within the group as a whole. The collaboration, cooperation and dedicated efforts of all members determine the effectiveness of the organization. The more active the membership, the stronger the chamber and the community will become.

The Princeton Area Chamber of Commerce
covers the greater Princeton area, including the counties of both Sherburne and Milaca. The Chamber serves the needs of various sized organizations and industries from manufacturing to smaller retail boutique shops and pursues the mission “to assure the success of the civic and business organizations by working as a team of professional business people to achieve effective community and business promotion, education and legislation.”

The Princeton Chamber is an event-based and business-initiative chamber. This means that the Chamber balances both hosting community events and supporting a strong business foundation in the Princeton Area.

A majority of public events held in Princeton each year are sponsored and produced by the chamber, not the city. The chamber is responsible for all aspects of these events from funding to advertising, event registration to volunteer management.

In addition, the Princeton Chamber champions the causes of its members in an effort to create a business-friendly climate in Princeton where the economy continues to grow and businesses flourish.

The Princeton Chamber is not directly affiliated with or regulated by any city or county offices. This group is strictly member-driven and board directed. With the exception of one salaried position, i.e. the Executive Director who is the in-house office staff, all other positions are non-paid and on a volunteer basis.
